What are these roof stains?

Houses and offices can get fungus, molds, mildew and debris on shingle roofs and tile roofs. You may have noticed a large pile of leaves in the valleys of your roof or the color of your roof has changed darker, even to black. Or, the roof may have black or even green spots! The "new" look can be restored to your roof without damage by using low-pressure, non pressure roof cleaning. Roof cleaning or chemical cleaning that is safe for your roof. Our properly applied mixture of potent roof cleaning agents and algae preventatives is totally effective in removing mold, mildew and fungus on roof surfaces for cleaning and maintenance of concrete tile roofs, and asphalt shingle roof surfaces. When it is applied to the roof surface, it keeps roof free from mold mildew and fungus for a minimum of two+ years. 

The Black discoloration on your roof isn't dirt. It is Saprophytic Fungus.
This fungus arrives and collects on roofs and other exterior surfaces from airborne spores. Once attached to a shingled or tile roof, the fungus begins to feed on the dead organic matter in and on asphalt and tile roofs. And it feeds on the limestone filler used in the manufacturing process of your roof shingles.
The ceramic roof granules are loosened and begin to fall off as the fungus begins to break down the asphalt. The ceramic granules protect the roofing material from UV degradation, and once the ceramic roof granules are removed, the roof will begin to deteriorate prematurely. Cleaning maintenance removes this deteriorating fungus and makes an old roof look "new" again.   Also see house washing.

We specialize in exterior painting and pressure washing. Exterior house painting requires different materials, and techniques from interior work. All exterior house paint materials have to be resistant to the elements, UV rays, humidity, Saprophytic Fungus. Ultra Violet sunlight after a time breaks down the materials in paint leaving chalky areas on walls, you can't paint over a chalk board, this chalk must be removed and the remainder bonded prior to house painting. Houses settle causing cracks in the cinder blocks, even behind stucco. You may have seen what appears to be a stair line cracks, paint alone does not fix these cracks. Before exterior painting is done the cracks must be repaired. Rotting wood also must be repaired . Exterior painting along with caulking and the proper repairs seals your house against the elements.
